Fala
I'm thrilled to have sold this piece at the RHCAN gallery today. This Scottish terrier, Fala, was FDR's beloved sidekick throughout the latter part of his presidency. He had strong local roots - having been born in Rhinebeck, NY - and having spent much time at FDR's Hyde Park estate. I'm glad this portrait of Fala has found a new home, and will stay in the Hudson Valley.

Going Postal (Part Deux)
Here's another taste of my ongoing series inspired by postage stamps from around the world. I applied guache, sumi ink, charcoal, and colored pencils to 4" by 6" sheets of watercolor paper. To paraphrase the Grateful Dead, this project is taking me on a very "long strange trip". I hope you'll stay with me on this one.

Going Postal
A few months ago, I received a mysterious package in the mail; it was filled with postage stamps from around the world. It turns out they were sent by the talented artist, Polly Law, who thought I might find inspiration in these little pieces of art. Thank you Polly - for starting me on another journey around the world - via stamps.
