Hopi Indian Woman

This portrait of a Hopi woman was drawn on an 1893 map of Arizona. Without a doubt, Hopi Indian culture is so unique and wonderful, its influence travels to galaxies far far way. This is part of a series called World Tour - in which I use maps and pages from an old atlas as canvases - painting images relating to the place on each map.

Signed prints of this piece are available here, in my Etsy shop.

Hopi Indian culture was destined to go viral, in a galaxies far far away.

This is part of an ongoing project, where I'm
attempting to draw a picture on every

map in an old Rand McNally atlas.

Stay tuned for more!

Cesar Chavez

Across America, labor strife is percolating at hotspots such as Starbucks, Amazon and Tesla. By confronting poor working conditions and pay, these activists bring to to mind this legendary organizer. His leadership helped strengthen the rights of farm workers everywhere.

Southwest Portraits

These portraits are part of a new series, inspired by Wheeler’s Photographic survey of the American West. From 1871-1873, George M Wheeler led an expedition to create topographic maps in the western states. He took with him two photographers, Timothy O’Sullivan and William Bell, to document the journey. For me, these landscape photos are inspirational launching points for portraits. The image above portrays naturalist John Muir, who was considered “Father of the National Parks”. Stay tuned, I’ll be posting more portraits soon! You can check out more personal projects at my new site!
