Chasing Talent

I had a blast collaborating with my first-ever client in Indiana, Purdue University. These illustrations accompany a story called Chasing Talent - all about the process of recruiting elite student-athletes to attend the school.  Thanks to art director, Virginia K Reynolds, of a perfect back-to-school assignment! You can view my new website here.

Text messaging is a common method colleges use to stay in touch with recruits.

Practice Makes Perfect

Here's a new piece for Rutgers Magazine - for a story highlighting five student athletes and their workout regimens. It was a lot of fun to draw these young women in action.

Practice Makes Prefect detail # 1

Practice Makes Perfect detail #2

A special thanks to art director John Van Cleaf for a super-energetic assignment.

Athletic Management

The illustration above appears in the latest issue of Athletic Management - a publication geared towards college and school athletic departments in America. The article is about onboarding -
a form of orientation through which new employees gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviors to become effective members of the organization. If done properly, this practice can lead to very happy and productive employees.

This drawing accompanies an article about how coaches and athletic departments can be vulnerable to lawsuits. The best thing coaches can do to protect themselves is to know the law. If they take proper precautions before setting foot on the court - they can avoid a visit to the court of law.

I always have fun brainstorming ideas for each illustration. Here are the sketches submitted for the illustration above:

Thanks to art director Pam Crawford for another fun assignement.
