RU Connected?

Here's a new drawing for Rutgers Magazine. It's for a story about how various alumni stay connected to their alma mater. This particular couple from Nebraska show their pride with RU 81 license plates, along with cattle on their ranch branded with a distinctive RU. Below are are sketches I submitted for this story.

Gregg Rolie Band

These sketches are either chicken scratch, or my attempts to capture the Gregg Rolie Band playing live. Gregg is a founding member of Santana, and with three percussionists, he brought the rhythm on Saurday night! The banded headlined at Hardscrabble Day, an annual all-day festival in my town.  I drew these while standing in the dark, on the side of the stage. The results are extremely sloppy, but somehow the intense energy of the band's performance translates into the lines.
