Pileated Woodpecker

Here's a new 34" by 20" drawing of Pileated Woodpeckers, drawn directly on a map of the Eastern Adirondacks. No doubt, these beautiful creatures add much character to the fabric of this region. You can view my collection of map drawings here.

Prints of this piece are available here!

Adirondack owls

Here's a new piece drawn on a map of the Adirondack High Peaks. It was rewarding to work in a larger scale,  34" by 20".  I've had a hoot of a good time creating this animal series, and have gotten fantastic feedback. Prints of this piece are available here. More owls, whales, elephants, peacocks and woodpeckers will be visiting this blog soon, so I hope you'll come back too!

Peacock

I was asked by a new local business, Hudson Valley Home, to create artwork with a peacock theme. This 12" by 12" mixed media piece is what I came up with. The original, as well as prints will be available soon! You can view sketches for this project here.

Hispanic Hudson Valley

Here's a recent piece for an article about the burgeoning Hispanic community in the Hudson Valley. Many of these residents are immigrants who are limited by their native tongue. But even with the language barrier, most in this community believe strongly in the American dream. To help them navigate through our culture, Bard College started publishing  La Voz Magazine. This Spanish language publication helps families find resources such as affordable healthcare, housing and ESL classes. You can read this cover story in the Winter issue of About Town magazine.

Below are some sketches for this piece...

Thanks for visiting, and hasta la vista, my friends.
