Osama Bin Laden

On May 2nd, 2011, America breathed a sigh of belief. A decade after the World Trade towers fell, the mastermind of this horrific event had finally been killed. As the Navy Seals were taking Osam Bin Laden down, President Obama and his staff monitored their progress from the White House situation room. An iconic photo capturing this moment appeared in papers the next day. Until a week ago, the clipping was affixed to my refrigerator. It inspired me to draw this charcoal portrait, which is 16" by 22".  I'm grateful that a bit of closure to a horrible chapter in US history was delivered on that day.
