Seed Stories and the Power of Plants

I’m thrilled to have this piece included in a exhibition at the Staten Island Museum, April 13th-Frebruary 23, 2020. This drawing was originally commissioned by the Hudson Valley Seed Company, to illustrate a seed packet of Blue Jade Sweet Corn (a plant which originated in Mexico). The exhibit is called Field Notes: Seed Stories and the Power of Plants. You can learn more about this show here.

Mistakes to Avoid When Grilling

Here’s a piece in today’s Washington Post, about  11 Mistakes Novice Grillers Make - and how to Avoid Them. As an avid griller, I learned some valuable tips from this story. This piece worked as a cover illustration in the Food section, but also as a series of smaller spots interspersed in the story. Thanks to art director, Amanda Soto, for a super tasty assignment! Humorous Mediation

This piece for Prevention Magazine accompanies a humorous piece about learning how to meditate (with mixed results). Thanks to Annabelle Gurwitch for writing such a fun essay, and to Nathan Sinclair for excellent art direction. Below are sketches I submitted.

Below is a smaller illustration which accompanied the story
