Rutgers Line Drawings

I tend to spend a lot of mental energy coming up with clever concepts for illustration assignments. It was a nice change of pace to create these simple line drawings for my friends at Rutgers Magazine. They accompany four profiles of new faculty members - who specialize in everything from the study of Lyme Disease to feminism in Iraq. Thanks to art director John VanCleaf for this fun assignment. World Tour

For decades I've been holding onto an old dilapidated atlas. It seemed to be calling out to me from the bookshelf, "You've got got the whole world at your fingertips. Go ahead, explore." So I finally honored this advice (with ample assistance from sumi ink). I hope you enjoy these impressions from the first leg of my journey!
