Palestine Mountain Gazelle

 

Here’s a drawing of mountain gazelles, the national animal of Palestine, which is listed as an endangered species. Our prayers are with the civilians of Gaza - who desperately need food, shelter, medical aid, and peace. We need a ceasefire now.

Polar Bear

 

Without a doubt, the mighty polar bear lives in the crosshairs of climate change. Because the environment they thrive in has been so dramatically altered by global warming, these magnificent creatures have been classified as a vulnerable species.

Bengal Tiger

 

India, home of the Bengal tiger, is forecast to be impacted soonest and hardest by the extreme effects of climate change. Along with the human toll, we will lose beautiful creatures such as this. There's still time to turn things around, but we need to follow the lead of wise people, many of whom are very young, like Greta Thunberg. She's not speaking for herself. She's speaking for the multitude of her generation, who   want to have a hopeful future, and save our f#*king planet.

From the Poles to the Equator

 

I’m honored to have this piece on display in a public art box, which is located at 7260 South Broadway in Red Hook, NY (right next to Holy Cow Ice Cream). This artwork is titled From the Poles to the Equator, and it was designed to draw attention to endangered and vulnerable species around our planet. Enormous thanks to the Red Hook Sustainable Communities Program for helping local artists share their creations in our community!

Koala

 

No doubt, the Koala ranks as one of the most iconic animals on planet Earth. But due to land clearing, bushfires, drought, disease and other threats, these tiny marsupials have been added to Australia’s Endangered Species list.

Pinterest Commercial

This is a protest-poster I drew back in 2017, to be carried in a march addressing climate change. On an April day, we marched over the Mid-Hudson Valley Bridge in solidarity with people around the world, voicing concerns about the state of our environment. From that day on, this spontaneously-drawn picture embarked on an interesting journey. It was included in a fantastic book called Posters for Change, and will subsequently be published in a Posters for Change calendar in 2021. In December I was approached by an ad agency (72 and Sunny) about the artwork being included in a commercial for the popular social-media platform, Pinterest. The spot was released on January 2nd. I had no idea how my art would be contextualized in this commercial, but was absolutely thrilled with the results. Philippine Tarsier

The Philippine Tarsier is yet another endangered species on our fragile planet. These tiny primates (no taller than six inches) are under threat due to deforestation. Paradoxically, they are also protected by indigenous tribes of these islands. They believe tarsiers are the pets of forest spirits, and harming them would bring bad luck.

Sumatran Rhinoceros

This is a Sumatran Rhinoceros. Due to poaching, it is believed that there are less than one hundred of these magnificent creatures left on our planet.
